മലയാളം · Therapy in Malayalam
Therapy in the language your feelings actually speak.
Full sessions in Malayalam — or Malayalam and English mixed freely — with an RCI-registered, NIMHANS-trained clinical psychologist. Online, wherever you are: Kerala, elsewhere in India, or abroad.
Why language matters
Some things only come out in Malayalam.
Anyone who grew up between languages knows this: you can be fluent in English and still find that the real things — the knot with your mother, the word for that particular guilt, what your grandmother used to say — arrive in Malayalam or not at all. Therapy that keeps stopping to translate loses exactly the material it most needs.
Working with a Malayalam-speaking therapist means the pauses, the proverbs, the family shorthand and the things said around a subject are heard the way they were meant. Nothing has to be converted before it can be understood.
Swathi is a native Malayalam speaker from Kerala who trained at NIMHANS (M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) · M.Sc) and has 12+ years of clinical practice — including complex presentations like OCD, bipolar disorder and postpartum struggles that deserve more than surface-level counselling in any language.
Who this is for
Kerala, the rest of India, and the diaspora.
- You're in Kerala and want a clinically trained psychologist rather than whoever happens to be nearby.
- You're a Malayali living in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi or another city, and English-only therapy keeps missing something.
- You're in the Gulf or elsewhere abroad, and want therapy that understands both the language and the leaving.
- Your parent or relative would only ever open up in Malayalam — and you're helping them find someone.
Reading in Malayalam helps too — there are pages in Malayalam script on ഓൺലൈൻ തെറാപ്പി and പ്രസവാനന്തര മാനസികാരോഗ്യം.
Common questions
Asked often, answered plainly.
- Can the whole session happen in Malayalam?
- Yes. Swathi is a native Malayalam speaker and a clinical psychologist — the entire session can run in Malayalam, from the first hello to the last minute. Many people also drift between Malayalam and English mid-sentence; that mixing is completely welcome.
- I live outside Kerala. Does that matter?
- Not at all. Sessions are online, so it works the same from Kochi, Bengaluru, Delhi, Dubai or anywhere else. Many Malayalam-speaking clients are living away from Kerala — sometimes that distance is part of what brings them to therapy.
- Why does the language of therapy matter?
- Feelings often live in the language they were first felt in. Words for family, guilt, duty or grief can carry meanings in Malayalam that translations flatten. Working with a therapist who hears those meanings directly means less explaining and more actual therapy.

പറയാനുള്ളത് മലയാളത്തിൽ പറയാം.
Say it in the language it lives in. A first session is just a conversation — in Malayalam, English, or both.
